Struts

I just realized I’ve never described our unit.

I know I can just take pictures or have Ash do a 3D rendering, but where’s the fun in that?

No, I did a drawing.

Made myself some coffee, grabbed a seat on the bench across the street, and gave it a go.

Turns out… I’m not great at drawing.

F came out to see what I was doing.

She didn’t say anything bad about my shaky linework or complete lack of perspective.

She just laughed and went back inside.

That was my morning until around 9am when it got too hot.

Texas summers are brutal.

It’s supposed to get over 100°F today.

Anyway, that’s the drawing you’re looking at.

I know moving is hard.

I know this is different than our old home.

Our little home on the corner.

With the fig out front.

And I thought I was just coming here to talk about our unit tonight.

See the parts I’m pointing at?

That funky outer rim?

Those reinforced struts are what make these buildings modular.

The building inside those struts can be built to suit.

But those struts are crazy strong.

Apparently, the idea is that as Tessera grows, our units will grow along with it.

They stack one on top of the other, and they can interconnect

I got the last orientation session yesterday.

They’ve got big ambitions.

It’s going to be a mile-high city.

Built on data centers.

And robotics.

Completely self-sufficient.
